Tommy Burt

President

Tommy founded the company with his former partner in 2002. After over a decade as Burt-Watts Industries, the company rebranded under the new name of The Burt Group in 2015. He has successfully managed over 16 million square feet of commercial interiors and other construction projects valued at approximately $1.5 billion.

Heather Merz

Chief Financial Officer

Heather Merz has led the financial strategies and human resource departments of The Burt Group since 2005. Her extensive understanding of construction finance has made her an industry leader and strategic executive within the organization.

Zach Cannon

Business Development

With over 7 years of experience in the Austin market, Zach has quickly been considered to be one of the top commercial construction resources in the industry. He leads our preconstruction team helping clients to make strategic decisions related to their new space.

Brooke Boggs Wood

Director of Marketing and Communications

Brooke helps to lead the marketing and communication efforts for The Burt Group. With over 10 years of experience in marketing she helps to increase the awareness of not only the TBG brand but also internal development.

Billy Lashbrook

Vice President of Construction Services

Billy Lashbrook was The Burt Group’s first employee in 2002. Formerly the director of construction, Lashbrook has completed more than five million square feet of space and provides executive management for all field operations.

Joe O'Jibway

Vice President of Construction

Joe O’Jibway serves as the executive manager of all construction. With The Burt Group since 2008, he most recently served as executive project manager and led the completion of more than six million square feet of space.

David Weatherbie

Project Executive

With well over 20 years of experience primarily in large ground up construction, David joins the TBG Team as a valued resource for all of our ground up projects. His wealth of knowledge has made him an industry leader.
