Vision

The design intent was to maintain the concrete structure and 20ft+ ceilings as final finishes while blending in a natural feel of rustic reclaimed products.
The storefront gives the patron a view into the kitchen, allowing them to understand the importance of clean and prideful food prep while also allowing the diner to enjoy the entire meal process from start to finish.

Challenges

TBG took over the street level space and began construction of the restaurant prior to the completion of the 30 story high rise that it is located under. This came with the challenges of needing to assist architects and engineers with the redesign of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems as the building began to take shape.

TBG had to redesign the waste system in the field due to gravity and grease interceptor locations, redesign and re-engineer both men’s and women’s restrooms, as well as the bar due to structural requirements. TBG also ended up having to move the kitchen exhaust and duct work in order to work around the base building parking garage.

Success

With The Burt Group successfully completing the construction of the restaurant, it has given a new vibrant feel to the Seaholm District even prior to the development's completion. The restaurant opening has created a new location for good food and night life in a previously industrial part of town.

Here are two more case studies worth exploring.
